Summer Stay in Heber

We just got back from our 2+ week stay in Heber with my family. We had lots of reasons for being in Heber so long, but the main one was my cousin Raquel's wedding. We did so many things while we were there, it is hard to remember everything. My mom was good to do lots of activities with the kids to keep them busy and try to tire them out. The first weekend I got home we went through the temple with Raquel and Jake and later that afternoon we had a bridal shower for Raquel. It was such a busy and fun day. I didn't see much of my kids that day between Lyle and Nola watching them while we were at the temple and my dad taking Brock for a few hours while the girls were at the shower. The next week was fair days and we kept busy watching Tanner show and sell his pig, going to the carnival, booths, parade, and rodeo. Madi and Brock both loved the parade and all the candy they got to run after and eat. Madi also ran in the stick horse race at the rodeo and got a cute purple horse and cowgirl hat to wear. Other fun things we did during the couple of weeks included playing at the Discovery Children's museum at the Gateway, Madi's swim lessons at the Fit Stop, picnic and feeding the ducks at the state park, swimming with our cousins in Farmington, seeing the movie 17 Miracles and eating at Macaroni Grill, playing at the new children's play place Monkey Mountain, visiting my friend Kolbi in South Jordan and swimming, visits to Grandma and Grandpa Gertsch's, playing with cousins in Heber, etc. I am probably forgetting things, since we didn't stop going the whole time. It was really fun to spend so much time with family, especially my mom who went everywhere with us and made it possible to do so much with the kids.

Finally at the end of the week, we went to Raquel and Jake's sealing in the Manti Temple on Friday, and attended their reception on Saturday. Everything was so perfect for their wedding, they are a cute couple and we are glad to have Jake in the family. Dave was able to fly in on Friday for the weekend and drove home with us on Sunday. It was a quick trip for him, but it was fun to have him with us for a little bit. Now we are back in Vegas and summer is almost over and I can't believe it! It has been a summer to remember packed full of fun! We have two weeks left until school starts and I'm sure it will be lots of fun!

Our first stop on our drive. The kids made it all the way to Beaver. I couldn't resist taking a picture in the famous chair.
The first weekend we were there we went to the Walker's house and they showed the kids all their animals including little baby turkeys. They were very cute, and very scared of my kids.
I had heard about Monkey Mountain in Park City, so my mom and I made a very quick stop at the outlets and then took the kids to the new play place. It was really fun and perfect for my kids ages. They didn't want to leave, but we had to get back so we could go to a movie and dinner for my dad's birthday. My cousin Emili and her friend were nice enough to babysit my kids.
Brock loved the little bouncy horse at my parents house, it is just his size.
We bought a carnival pass for Madi and my cousins Emili and Lizzy were nice enough to go with her on all the rides. It was a really nice day and Brock had fun spending time with Grandma and walking around the grassy area. He really started perfecting his walking skills while we were in Heber, he know almost exclusively walks and gets so excited when he goes far.
The VIP chairs for Madi and Brock. Too bad the only stayed in the chairs long enough for a picture. They were too busy collecting candy and walking around.

Brock enjoying the rodeo.
Madi getting ready for the stick horse race at the rodeo.
Madi and Uncle Tanner at the pig sale. Tanner's last year, he is going to Utah State this year for college and then onto his mission.
Brock with Grandpa pointing and saying, "what's dat." His favorite phrase. The kids loved being around all the animals.

More parade pictures.
Brock "eating lunch" at the Discovery Children's museum.
Do you think she has enough food?
Madison making mom some lunch.
My Grandma Lucille joined us at the museum. My cousin Melina and her girls, Aunt Michelle and Melina's grandma also came with us. It was a very nice museum, we could have spent lots of hours there.

Madi at swim lessons. She didn't like to listen for very long and just wanted to play with the toys, but I think she learned a couple of things, so I'm glad we signed her up.
Feeding the ducks at Wasatch Mtn. State Park.
Madi's cousin Lizzy broke the tree branch off and Madi and the branch became inseparable for a day or two...silly girl.
Lizzy, Madison and Brock playing outside the luncheon for Raquel and Jake's wedding in Manti.
Yeah, David finally got here! Our family dressed up and ready to go to Raquel and Jake's reception.

The horses were a good distraction during the night.
How many ice cream cones do you think she had during the night?
Raquel and her mom.
We tried to get Jake in the picture too, but he was always busy talking to everyone there.

We had so much fun and still talk about Madi. The wedding looked beautiful - including Raquel......And your little family photo is darling....all matchy. You know that's how I like it and we'd match everyday if I controlled the universe :)
