Christmas 2011

After we got back from Hawaii, we decided to stay in Midway and spend Thanksgiving with our families, especially since David's parents will be leaving in January for 2 years for their mission. We had a great time going to Thanksgiving at both my grandparents and also David's parents. My mom went to the ski swap while she had my kids and bought them snow clothes, so they had fun playing outside every day, even if there wasn't much snow. We planned on going to Heber for Christmas this year, but we didn't want to bring all of Christmas with us, so the Saturday before we left for Heber, we had Santa deliver most the kids toys. It was really fun. The night before we even made cookies for Santa and told the kids it was Christmas eve. I was SO GLAD we did it this way. It was fun to have Christmas with just our little family, and it was SO NICE not to haul all of their toys up and back. And we STILL brought a trunk full of toys back with us between their grandparents and cousins. This year, Shane and Lynette were staying with my parents too, and it was fun to hang out with them and Madi and Brock really had fun playing with Cam. They also have a three month old baby, Chase, who Brock was obsessed with. He loves babies, and his face would light up whenever he would see him. We went to lots of Christmas parties, including one where Santa made a visit. The annual Sweat family Christmas party that is my favorite party since I was little. It is still fun even now that I am a mom. On Christmas day we opened presents, went to church, had dinner with my family and a testimony meeting, and then two hours later went to dinner at Lyle and Nola's and also had our annual Christmas/testimony meeting. David and I are both very blessed to have two very strong families. I equally love spending time with both of them and am so grateful that my kids get to grow up around such great influences.

Madi found these glasses on a build-a-bear at my Aunt Kym's and Uncle Mark's Christmas party. Everyone thought they were really hers. The party was so much fun, lots of good food, and Santa even came for a visit. Brock's in heaven, a gigantic bowl of chips right at his level.

My Grandma Lucille wanted to have a kid Christmas party, so we all went to Jungle Jim's play land in SLC. It was better than Disneyland for my kids. Completely indoors, no lines, and all the rides were just their size.




My Grandpa Sweat bought 2 retired horses from their mission in Nauvoo. He hitched them up to a wagon and took us around Center Creek on a wagon ride. It was really fun, and Madi even got to hold the reins!

The "Reno" Christmas tree. My parents have gone to Reno for the last fifteen years for the Reno Tournament of Champions. We always play the arcades at Circus Circus, so we have acquired hundreds of stuffed animals. My mom decorated a tree with all the loot, and it is perfect for the grand kids. They love it, and it is good memories of all those wrestling tournaments.
