David's last day at Deloitte was January 16th. It was really surreal for both him and I. He worked there about 5 1/2 years, sometimes a very LONG 5 1/2 years. It was a great place to work, but it was very challenging. At times he worked more hours than seemed humanely possible and he juggled his family, and a very time consuming church calling (YM President, Ward Clerk, and 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric) very well. He has more energy, drive and ambition than anybody I know, and I am so grateful he is mine. His last week of work, the partner and team on his job took us to a super fancy steak house in the Cosmopolitan call STK. It was so good (the bill was over $900 for 6 of us)! The partner gave a toast to Dave and it really touched me. He talked about what a hard worker and team player he is. And how he connected to all the clients and left a very positive lasting impression with all of them. His whole team was absolutely devastated that he was leaving. It was a good ending for all of us, and even though we have been looking forward to this day because of more work life balance and family time, it was still hard to say goodbye. On his very last day we went to Zupas for lunch and after to visit the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel since Madi is obsessed with Paris lately!
