On July 8 Brock turned two years old. Because of Girl's Camp and other summer activities I didn't take the time to plan a big party for him, we just had it with our family. He had a lot of fun. Since his birthday was on Sunday this year, we celebrated on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday morning we went to clean the church and planned on heading over to the Whitney Ranch pool to go swimming. But while we were at the church our friend invited us over later that day to swim at her pool, and since her pool is the best we thought we might try to do both. We first went to the Whitney Ranch pool and swam for about 2 hours and ate lunch. On the way home, Brock fell asleep in the car, but Madi really wanted to go over to the Lewis'. So we drove to their house and Brock stayed in the car with me for 45 more minutes and slept. Then I took him out and he slept on my shoulder for about a half hour more and then woke up. We ended up staying at the Lewis' for 4 more hours! It was so much fun, we had other friends there, and just when we thought we had overstayed our welcome, Stan came out with six boxes of pizza for everyone! So, we ate and swam a little more. It turned out to be a great party for Brock, I should have brought some cupcakes for everyone. When we came home, we put the kids down and Dave and I finished writing our talks, since we were speaking in sacrament meeting the next day. Sunday morning Brock woke up to his room filled with balloons and I made pancakes for him. He also opened his presents from us and his Grandmas. We gave him a sticker book and a little Cars four wheeler. He was yet to ride it as much a Madi, but we are working on that. David wants to get her a bigger one for her birthday in September... we will see. Anyway, after church I made a roast and potatoes and a nothing bundt cake. It was kind of a low key birthday, but it turned out to be just what we all needed! Happy Birthday to my Brock, he is such a good little boy. Some things about Brock:
He copies absolutely EVERYTHING that Madi does, really he does, it is a little crazy sometimes.
He says so many words and speaks in two or three words sentences. His communication has improved so much over the last few months, it's really nice.
He sleeps really well, around 10 or 11 hours at night and a 3-4 hour nap during the day.
He also loves to do anything David is doing. If he is home, Brock is his little shadow.
