Brock turns 5!

My little buddy Brock turned 5! Brock is such a blessing and peacemaker in our family.  He is compassionate and thinks of others before himself.  He treats his sisters so nice (although he does fill the brother role well with his teasing) and doesn't like to disappoint his mom and dad.  His current passions are animals, candy, and baseball, in that order. He wants a pet so bad, it makes me almost want to get him one....almost!  He loves playing at the duck pond and chasing the poor ducks, fishing, catching frogs in the river, riding his bike and being chased.  You will be his best friend if you play tag with him.  He also plays really well with his legos and blocks and toy cars. He loves playing memory games and kinetic sand and play dough. He doesn't mind playing by himself either. At 5 years old Brock weighs 50 lbs (in the 90th %) and is 46.25 inches (94%), and according to our Dr, he should be around 6 ft, which is so tall compared to his parents!
His birthday is always during a busy time of year with the 4th weekend and summer.  But this year he really wanted a friend party, so we had one. It turned out so fun! Every single boy that he invited came, except one, so we had a house full.  We played water games out back with water balloons, slip n slide, and trampoline, and then we had an ice cream bar where the kids could choose their toppings. We also did a pinata and we let them play with balloons in the house.  The boys were all pretty wild, but it worked out.  I don't mind a little chaos, as long as they are being active and having fun. I know Brock really loved it, and that's all that matters.  Because he is more laid back and less attention seeking than his sisters, I sometimes feel like he gets ignored, so I wanted to make sure his birthday was perfect! We sure love Brock, and I'm so grateful he is mine!
