October was really nice this year. We played a lot outside and got to enjoy the perfect weather---not to hot and not too cold. Brock finished up his soccer season and started playing really well. One game (Dave happened to be the coach, not sure if that had anything to do with it) soccer just clicked for Brock and he was a scoring machine. He literally could not be stopped scoring 6 (over half) of the team's goal and really enjoying himself. He was a complete change from the other games where we were bribing him with candy to get him to go in the game. It was really fun as a parent, and got me excited for when the kids are older and get into sports a little more. Other highlights of our month included Brock getting his first pet, a bunny named Snow, and Madi doing a cheer clinic at the HS and then performing at half time of the football game. She loved going to practice and was really looking forward to the football game, until she found out our neighbors were having their huge Halloween party the same night as the football game. It ended up that we were able to do both, but she acted out during the performance and you could tell she didn't want to be there. Oh well.... Another fun thing is during Fall break I found out that Dyan Johnson and Amy Blake (my two besties from HS) were coming to St. George. It worked out that we all did a fun hike with our families and got to catch up a bit. It's crazy how comfortable it is to pick right up where you left off with some friends. I would love to live closer to these two one day.....
Lastly Lori and Ally came to St. George for a little girl's weekend. We got to tag along to dinner and When you Wish at Tuachan. It was Madi's first time at Tuachan and she loved it! The play really was the best one I've seen there, and we had great seats. Both Madi and Ally had us rolling all night with their little purses, babies, snacks and comments. I hope that it becomes a tradition, it was so fun!
